COP BASTARD Guide: Combat, Weapons and Endless Mode
Everything you need to know before hitting the streets of 1990s Osaka.
COP BASTARD is a fast, old-school corridor shooter, and this guide walks you through everything that matters: the slow-motion combat loop, dive dodges, weapon habits, difficulty choices and Endless Mode. The campaign asks you to read rooms quickly and shoot faster, so a few early habits go a long way.

What kind of game is COP BASTARD?
COP BASTARD is a 1990s-set corridor FPS about detective Katashi tearing through yakuza-held buildings in Osaka. It deliberately skips modern shooter bloat: no ADS, no perks, no upgrades and no skill trees. You get a gun, a badge and an attitude, and the level design expects you to keep moving.
Combat fundamentals
- Trigger slow motion often, not just in emergencies. The time-bending mechanic is your core tool for tight corridors. Use it to enter rooms, not only to escape death.
- Dive through danger. Diving is both a dodge and a repositioning tool. Diving past a shotgunner is usually safer than trading shots in a doorway.
- Keep moving. Standing still gets you killed. The game rewards constant motion, much like the classic action movies that inspired it.
- Use the spit. It sounds like a joke, and it is, but humiliating downed enemies is part of the game's identity.

Getting started tips
- Do not chase builds. There are no upgrades to plan around. Learn the rooms instead.
- Learn enemy spawn habits. Corridor shooters telegraph their encounters. After a few deaths you will pre-aim the right angles.
- Watch your health economy. Med kits are limited, and some achievements demand you never touch them at all.
- Try Hard only after the first few levels. The difficulty modes change how punishing encounters feel, so learn the maps first.
Difficulty and Endless Mode
Once the campaign is done, Endless Mode is where COP BASTARD lives. You chase high scores while the game tracks your deaths, and the Steam leaderboards rank both. For details on rules and settings, see our pages on Endless Mode and difficulty options.
FAQ
Is COP BASTARD hard for beginners?
It is fast but fair. Encounter patterns repeat, and the slow-motion mechanic gives you room to learn. Most players settle into the rhythm within the first hour.
Does COP BASTARD have upgrades or perks?
No. There are no upgrades, perks or ADS aiming. The design is intentionally stripped back, in the spirit of 1990s shooters.
How long is the campaign?
Players report the main story runs around six hours, with Endless Mode extending playtime considerably.
